Fully Mature

Do any of us actually get to that “mature” stage? I ask that “tongue in cheek”, but seriously I wonder about some people. You think there is progress and bam…something happens that puts that question mark back in your head.

The fact is, some folks have so much trouble learning from their mistakes and will repeat the same cycle that got them in their mess over and over again.

I know of someone recently that worked so hard to get off drugs and had been clean for such a good stretch of time. She got out of rehab and went right back to hanging with and listening to the wrong people. Her life is in shambles again. But she is going back to rehab to start over again. I pray that the right people will come into her life, and she will be teachable. She has to do this for herself and her kids.

We are all bound to make mistakes of some sort during our lives. Some will make small errors in judgement, and others will make life changing mistakes. These mistakes can change the course of a life.

What we do after these mistakes is what will make the difference. Will there be a lesson learned? Will we be willing to become a better version of ourselves? Will we become a version that has matured into a better and healthier guy or gal?

Just remember you must be a listener and not an excuse expert. Be aware of who is teaching what and listen to the right people. If you have to change your friends…, do it! Your life and the lives of your family depend on you doing just that.

Philippians 3:15-16 TPT

[15] So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if anyone is not yet gripped by these desires, God will reveal it to them. [16] And let us all advance together to reach this victory-prize, following one path with one passion. #paulaandthebible #helpforyourdailywalk
