Quit Tugging and Start Hugging
Probably most of you have played “tug of war” as a kid. You have a group on one side of a line pulling on a rope one way while another group on the other side are pulling in the opposite direction. That’s fun and games, but … What happens to relationships when there are two or more people pulling in opposing sides of a situation? Teach by Example
As parents and grandparents, we need to keep a check on our lifestyle and attitudes. We are not just examples of how to live on “Sunday go to meeting” day, but on every day of the week. Practice the Pause
What you do in the middle of staying quiet is just as important as “the pause”. If all you are doing while thinking of the appropriate response is reflecting on the rough (and in some cases harsh) answers you plan to give … you are missing the point. Our responsibility as a follower of Jesus Christ is to deflect anger. Those angry and hateful comments should not come out of our mouths or typed out for anyone to see.
